Ballaghaderren

Friday 13th June 2003
Ballaghaderren will host a clan event of the Costello Clan. The new Costello chieftain will be bestowed, Talks on the Costello's will be given and traditional costume of the times will be worn in the town that night followed by traditional music.

Frenchpark

Saturday 14th June 2003
Frenchpark will host a talks on 'Douglas Hyde'. This event will include visiting the Douglas Hyde Centre. The official opening of the cycling route for Roscommon will be launched and continue with a cycling festival. The evening will finish with traditional music in the village.

Loughglynn

Thursday 19th June 2003
A walking festival will take place in Loughglynn on the newly opened Greenway. This event will include visiting a lot of the historical sites in the valley and will also cover the changing landscape of rural Ireland. Traditional music will take place in the village that night.

Ballinlough

Friday 20th June 2003
Ballinlough will host an O'Flynn Clan Gathering in the town. The new clan chieftain of the O'Flynn will be bestowed. The gathering will take place on the site of the old O'Flynn Castle, which is situated on the shores of Lough Flynn. Ballinlough will also host the Rose of Roscommon that evening. This event will attract a large grouping of followers from the county.

Ballymoe

Saturday 21st June 2003
Ballymoe will host a walking festival along the newly opened Greenway, this event will also include walks on the virgin bog which has been untouched for thousands of years. The walking festival will arrive back in Father Flanagan's Centre for traditional music. Father Flanagan had a major influence in the village for his work in America. A large amount of people from the U.S will arrive to honour this famous man.

Glinsk

Sunday 22nd June 2003
Glinsk will host a clan gathering on the O'Burke's. The event will include a walking festival on the Suck Valley Way. The Clan Chieftain of the O'Burke's will welcome all the O'Burke's who will arrive from overseas. A campsite spectacle will be made alongside the O'Burke's Castle to complete the day. A re-enactment company will be dressed in clan clothing and will be mingling with the crowds.

Creggs

Thursday 26th June 2003
Creggs will host a clan gathering on the O'Finnerty. This is the first time the O'Finnerty's will have a clan gathering in their ancient home-land. The new O'Finnerty Clan Chieftain will be bestowed, a battle re-enactment company will host a battle re-enactment in the village to entertain the visiting guests.

Athleague/Ballygar

Friday 27th June 2003
Friday 27th June, 2003 will commemorate a battle which was held over 500 years ago in Athleague, beside the River Suck and recorded in the Annals of Connaught. It was between two factions of the local clan, the O’Kelly’s. The local Development Group, Suck Valley Development will kick off a very informative weekend. They will unite the ancestors of the original families who were involved in this battle, namely the O’Connors, O’Kellys, Fitzgeralds, and Bourkes on the bridge in Athleague, from there all will adjourn to the Angling Visitor Conference Centre for an O’Kelly Summer School which will entail displays, guest speakers and some field trips.
