Beara -Breifne Greenway The O'Sullivan Beara Historic Route as part of the European Greenway



 

On the Monday 21st October 2002 the official launch of the Beara Breifne Greenway which traces the epic march of O'Suilleabhain Beara in 1603, from Beara Peninsula, West Cork to Breifne in Leitrim Cavan area will took place at the Shannon Oaks Hotel, in Portumna, Co. Galway at Monday 2:30 p.m.

The event was well attended by representatives of the community groups involved, Bord Failte, The Heritage Council, National Waymarked Ways, the O'Sullivan Clan, and regional development and tourism bodies. and The event was reported in a variety of media including the RTE Six One news and The Irish Times, the Examiner and regional papers.
