Drumkeeran
village is attractive and hospitable and boasts a fine heritage
centre. The area has numerous rivers and lakes for fishing. Visitors
can enjoy walks in the forests or drive along mountains roads to
enjoy the beautiful scenery.
The
village heritage centre celebrates the history and folklore of the
area and one can experience past days in a beautifully reconstructed
Irish cottage. The centre draws inspiration from the magnificent
rugged landscape surrounding mountains, lakes and woods, which surround
the village. The heritage centre also exhibits a traditional Sweat
House and Agricultural machinery. On the same site the Donald Fidgeon
Resource Centre tells the story of the 1798 rebellion and Drumkeerans
part in it, through the use of displays and memorabilia.
